This reverts commit 2d3a0a10
(which doesn't make any noticeable difference)

This commit is the workaround for the curses issue where the query
string on the screen is truncated after the cursor when the list is
updated: e.g. `aaac|bbb`

~/abc/def/ghi** should match ghi under ~/abc/def/, not ~/abc/def*
